Sunny Side of Reading:
This Summer’s Challenge Is Here!
A free reading adventure for kids in Navarro County
Summer is the perfect time to crack open a great book, and this year the Navarro County Early Childhood Coalition is making it extra fun with the Sunny Side of Reading — a summer reading challenge designed just for kids in our community.
“Every hour your child reads this summer brings them closer to a prize — and a lifelong love of learning.”
Four great ways to participate
- Track reading hours — Log your child’s reading progress using the official Microsoft Form. Every hour counts toward prizes!
- Little Free Library story times — Join us at 6 different Little Free Libraries across Navarro County for free story time events, complete with popsicles for the kids.
- Win prizes — The more hours your child reads, the more prizes they can earn. It’s that simple.
- Kick-off story time — Celebrate the launch on May 24th at 3:30 PM at Twilight Nursing and Rehab. Come say hello and get your summer started right!
Whether your reader devours chapter books or loves picture books before bed, every minute spent reading this summer makes a difference — and this program makes it something to celebrate.
Stop by the Kerens Library to learn more. We’d love to see your kids reading all summer long!
